How long is the typical hospital stay for myomectomy surgery?

The length of hospital stay for fibroid surgery varies depending on the type of surgery performed, the recovery from surgery, and other factors. The length of hospital stay for fibroid surgery is mainly related to the patient’s underlying conditions, such as the presence of comorbidities, whether blood pressure and blood sugar are abnormal at the time of hospitalization, and whether preoperative adjustments are required. After admission, preoperative laboratory tests, including gynecological ultrasound, electrocardiogram, blood and urine routine, liver and kidney function, and blood clotting mechanism tests, are completed. If all the laboratory tests are clear, surgery can be arranged. It usually takes 1-2 days to prepare before surgery, followed by one day on the day of surgery, and finally, the post-operative hospital stay is determined by the surgical procedure, usually 3-5 days for laparoscopic surgery and 5-7 days for open surgery. In addition, it is recommended to get out of bed as soon as possible after the operation to prevent adhesions, and to rest properly within 1 month after the operation, and to prohibit sexual intercourse and tub bathing.
