How to treat a small amount of fluid in the suprapericardial crypt?

In general, a small amount of fluid in the suprapericardial crypt may be caused by physiologic factors, pathologic factors such as local inflammation, pericardial effusion and other reasons. If it is caused by physiological factors, it usually does not need treatment; if it is caused by pathologic factors, it can usually be treated by drugs, surgery and so on.
1. Physiological factors: under normal circumstances, there will be a certain amount of fluid in the pericardial cavity, usually not more than 50ml, if the patient does not have uncomfortable symptoms, there is no need to worry too much, and there is no need for treatment.
2. Pathologic factors: when the fluid in the suprapericardial crypt exceeds 50mL, it may be caused by local inflammation and pericardial effusion.
(1) Local inflammation: it may damage the pericardial tissue and cause local lesions, resulting in increased fluid exudation. It can usually be treated with drugs such as cefixime and ribavirin under doctor’s supervision.
(2) Pericardial effusion: pericardial lesions or other heart disease involvement, resulting in more fluid secretion from the pericardium, when the fluid is stored in the pericardial cavity, it may cause a small amount of fluid accumulation in the suprapericardial crypt. Generally, it can be treated with surgery such as subxiphoid pericardial drainage and pericardiectomy under the guidance of a doctor.
In addition, breast cancer and lung cancer may also cause a small amount of fluid in the suprapericardial socket. If there is any discomfort, you should seek medical advice and follow the doctor’s instructions.
