Tooth extractions can be uncomfortable and sometimes significantly painful. The extractions are all performed under anesthesia. For milk teeth with resorbed roots and teeth that are looser than taught, they can be extracted directly under surface anesthesia and are generally pain insensitive because most of the roots of the milk teeth are resorbed. For teeth with intact and non-loosening roots, local infiltration anesthesia or extraction under block anesthesia is required, and as long as the anesthesia is effective, the extraction will not be significantly painful. If alcohol is consumed before extraction or oral painkillers may affect the absorption of anesthetic drugs and significant pain may occur. Sometimes there is inflammation in the apical region of the tooth, which affects the diffusion of anesthetic drugs, and it is also inappropriate to extract the tooth, and it is necessary to wait until the inflammation is controlled before extraction. There will be tearing of soft tissues during tooth extraction, or wisdom teeth obstruction needs to remove part of the bone, the extraction trauma is bigger, and there will be a certain feeling when extracting teeth, if the extraction process is too nervous and fearful, there will be pain even if the anesthesia effect is better. Therefore, as long as the anesthesia effect is good, there will be no obvious pain during tooth extraction and there is no need to worry too much. For patients who are too sensitive to pain, or those who are difficult or need a long time, tooth extraction under general anesthesia can also be considered.
