How long does it take to recover from a torn birth wound?

Normally, a milder wound torn by normal labor should be able to recover completely in about two weeks. However, the two-week recovery is based on the premise that the recovery is smooth, no infection, redness, swelling, oozing and other phenomena occur after the laceration of normal birth and it is a minor laceration of normal birth. If the laceration is heavy, the recovery time will be extended accordingly. The perineal area of women is rich in blood circulation and has many small blood vessels, so in the healing process of the wound after the tear, the supply of nutrients is more adequate, and the healing process will be faster. However, because of the special location just in the perineum, there are vaginal secretions or malodorous dew, and then there is also the function of excretion at the anus, and there is also more sweating after delivery, so this area will be more moist, easily contaminated by pathogens, resulting in subsequent infection of the lacerated wound and affecting the healing of the lacerated wound. Therefore, the patient must pay attention to the cleanliness and hygiene of the wound during the recovery period, keep the wound dry, and avoid eating irritating foods in the diet.
