Fungal glansitis can be treated with Dacronin Ointment, the main ingredient of which is miconazole, which can treat superficial fungal infections of the skin. It is suitable for fungal glans but not for other types of glans, such as glans caused by bacteria trichomonas, where topical dacrynic ointment is not effective. Fungal glans is mostly caused by contact infection, or there is a decline in autoimmunity, such as diabetes, oral immunosuppressants, or long-term use of large amounts of antibacterial agents, resulting in the suppression of the body’s normal flora and fungal infections. If the infection is caused by swelling of the glans, formation of red spots and more white discharge, accompanied by more obvious itching of the glans, a fungal smear test of the relevant secretions is required, and the presence of fungus can be confirmed with the use of dacrynic ointment for treatment. If the pathogenic bacteria is detected as other types of infection, such as E. coli or trichomonas, the treatment with Dacronin ointment has no effect and needs to be treated with antibiotic ointment or metronidazole instead.
