How to Take Metformin Extended-Release Tablets and Damecon

Generically known as Gliclazide Extended-Release Tablets, Metformin Extended-Release Tablets are taken by mouth, swallowing the whole tablet with water, chewing is prohibited, with or after meals. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 2 grams. Gliclazide extended-release tablets are taken orally once a day, recommended to be taken with breakfast, with the maximum dose not exceeding 120 mg a day. Metformin extended-release tablets are indicated for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus that is not well controlled with diet and exercise therapy alone. Adverse reactions include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, and bloating, as well as dizziness, headache, muscle pain, palpitations, rash, and fatigue. Gliclazide Extended-Release Tablets are indicated for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus in whom diet therapy, exercise therapy and weight loss alone are not sufficient to control blood glucose levels. Adverse reactions include hypoglycemia, weight gain, and symptoms of adrenergic counter-regulation such as sweating, anxiety, tachycardia, hypertension, angina pectoris, and arrhythmias, as well as gastrointestinal disturbances such as abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Contraindications to metformin extended-release tablets include type 2 diabetes mellitus with ketoacidosis, hepatic and renal insufficiency, cardiac failure, severe infection and trauma. Contraindications for gliclazide extended-release tablets include allergy, diabetes mellitus with ketoacidosis, severe hepatic and renal insufficiency, application of miconazole, and breastfeeding patients. Metformin Extended-Release Tablets and Gliclazide Extended-Release Tablets should be taken under the supervision of a doctor and should not be taken by oneself.
