Si-Yi Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine that consists of epiphyllum (prepared), dry ginger, and roasted licorice. The efficacy of this product is to warm the middle Jiao and dispel cold, in addition to returning Yang and rescuing rebelliousness. It is useful in treating Yang deficiency, cold sweating, syncope (unconsciousness with cold limbs, even to the elbows and above the knees), clearing of grain, and a weak pulse.
The combination of medicines in Si-Yi Tang can warm the middle and dispel cold, restore yang and save the rebelliousness (by warming yang to save fainting, unconsciousness, etc.). Adverse effects, contraindications, and precautions for Si-Yi Tang are not yet clear.
Chinese medicines or proprietary Chinese medicines need to be used under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner and should not be used blindly by individuals to avoid adverse effects.
