Cefradine is a first generation cephalosporin with good antibacterial effect on some strains of gram-positive cocci such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus. Its indications are mainly for the diseases of gram-positive bacteria infections. Cefradine capsule can be used for acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections, genitourinary tract infections and skin soft tissue infections are also available. The common adverse reactions of cefradine include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms, and some drug fever or drug rash can also appear. A few patients may experience temporary elevation of hematuria, urea nitrogen, and transient elevation of serum aminotransferase and serum alkaline phosphatase. Long-term use may lead to dysbiosis, vitamin deficiency or secondary infections, and occasionally vaginal candidiasis. There have been rare cases of psychiatric abnormalities, hearing loss, delayed allergic reactions, anaphylactic shock, dysuria, pharmacological hemolysis, cardiac arrhythmia and other rare adverse reactions after use.
