Does it hurt to have my wisdom teeth removed?

Absolutely most wisdom teeth have many dangers, such as causing local inflammation, decay of adjacent teeth, and in severe cases, may lead to infection of the maxillofacial space and need to be removed in time. The importance of wisdom tooth extraction is obvious, especially for some young women who are preparing for pregnancy. However, many people are reluctant to have their wisdom teeth removed, why? Because they are afraid, because they are afraid of pain. So does it hurt to have wisdom teeth removed or not? First of all, the answer is: it does not hurt when handled properly. Many people still have the old memory that seeing a dentist or having a tooth pulled is a very painful process that involves hammering and may hurt for days if it is late. In fact, the concept of pain-free dentistry or called comfort dentistry is becoming more and more recognized and accepted by doctors, and Chinese doctors are beginning to try many efforts to improve the experience and feeling of patients during dental treatment. Specifically for tooth extraction or wisdom tooth extraction, I will describe below how to make it painless from three aspects: before, during and after the extraction. Before tooth extraction: choose an anesthetic with strong numbing effect. In order to avoid pain during the injection, surface anesthetic is applied to the injection site first; the needle for anesthetic injection is also different from ordinary treatment, with a particularly fine and sharp needle, and the speed of anesthetic injection is controlled to reduce the stinging pain when entering the needle and the swelling pain caused by the anesthetic pushing. In tooth extraction: Traditional tooth extraction mostly uses a dental chisel to create a gap between the tooth and the alveolar bone, place a dental collar and extract the tooth, however, the vibration generated by the chisel when increasing the gap brings great discomfort and fear. The use of dental high-speed turbine head can avoid the vibration generated by the chisel to increase the gap, and the gentle operation and careful treatment can make the extraction of obstructed wisdom teeth complete in a painless and comfortable manner quickly. After extraction: the use of ice after extraction can reduce the local swelling reaction, and oral painkillers after the operation can avoid the pain that occurs after the operation. In conclusion, a comfortable consultation environment, skillful operation by the doctor, friendly communication, and proper use of pain medication after surgery can completely avoid the painful discomfort of wisdom tooth extraction. It makes the wisdom tooth extraction easy to accept.
