What medicines are taken to regulate a weak spleen and stomach?

Weakness of the spleen and stomach includes spleen qi deficiency, spleen yang deficiency and stomach yin deficiency, etc. It can be treated with medicines such as Sijunzi Tang, Lizhong Pill and Yiqi Tang.
Spleen qi deficiency is characterized by pale complexion, low voice, shortness of breath, and loose stools (scanty and unformed feces). Treatment is with Si Jun Zi Tang (四君子汤), which consists of ginseng, atractylodes, poria, and licorice, and has the effect of benefiting qi and strengthening the spleen.
Spleen-Yang deficiency syndrome is characterized by pain in the epigastrium and abdomen, a preference for warmth and pressure, vomiting, loose stools, epigastric constipation with little food, and fear of cold and cold limbs. Treatment with Lizhong Pill, consisting of ginseng, dry ginger, licorice and atractylodes, has the effect of warming the middle and dispelling cold, tonifying the qi and strengthening the spleen.
Patients with stomach yin deficiency manifested with hunger, dry mouth and throat, and dry stools. Treatment with Yi Stomach Soup, composed of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Ophiopogon, Rock Sugar, Radix et Rhizoma Shengdi and Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, has the efficacy of nourishing Yin and benefiting the stomach.
