Is zoledronic acid a chemotherapy drug?

Zoledronic acid is not a chemotherapeutic drug, it belongs to the treatment of bone diseases, and can be combined with chemotherapy drug treatment.
Zoledronic acid belongs to nitrogen-containing bisphosphonic acid compounds, which mainly act on human bones, through the inhibition of osteoclasts, thus inhibiting bone resorption. Bisphosphonate compounds have a high affinity for mineralized bone and can act selectively on bone. They are commonly used in the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and are also used in the treatment of Paget’s disease (metaplastic osteitis).
In oncology, zoledronic acid is used for bone pain caused by osteolytic bone metastases from malignant tumors; and for hypercalcemia caused by malignant tumors.
It is important to note that it is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to this drug or other bisphosphonates; it is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women; and it is not recommended for those with severe renal insufficiency. Adverse reactions such as fever, malaise, chest pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation and diarrhea may occur when taking the drug.
Zoledronic acid is a prescription drug, please standardize the use under the guidance of a doctor.
