Uterine Fibroid Bleeding Symptoms

Bleeding symptoms of uterine fibroids are mainly in the form of increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual periods and bloody discharge. First of all, increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual period are the most common symptoms of uterine fibroids. They are most common in large intermural fibroids and submucosal fibroids, which enlarge the uterine cavity, increase the endometrial area and affect uterine contraction. In addition, fibroids may compress the veins near the tumor, resulting in congestion and dilation of the endometrial venous plexus, which may cause increased menstrual flow, menstrual dribbling, and prolonged menstrual periods. When submucosal leiomyoma is accompanied by necrosis and infection, there may be irregular vaginal bleeding or blood-like purulent discharge. Prolonged increased menstrual flow can be secondary to anemia, with symptoms such as fatigue and palpitations. Secondly, the discharge is bloody. If there is ulceration, necrosis or bleeding from the fibroid, there can be bloody or purulent, foul-smelling vaginal discharge.
