Some of the problems found during the rehabilitation of cerebral palsy

I would like to express some of my opinions for parents’ reference and welcome parents’ corrections for their children with cerebral palsy. First of all, let’s talk about the meaning and purpose of rehabilitation: rehabilitation is the use of medical, social, educational and vocational measures to train and retrain people with disabilities in order to restore their functions to the highest possible level. 2. Two major problems of children with cerebral palsy: z1{ abnormal force: z2{ abnormal posture: 3. Four force problems: z1{ balance z2{ control z3{ dominance z4{ coordination: As long as these four forces are well practiced, the child will recover. 4. Three major characteristics of children with cerebral palsy: z1{Little guts z2{Little sleep z3{Dependence: The main thing is dependence. As long as the child’s dependence can be improved, the child’s effect in rehabilitation will be fast. Because of the child’s mobility, excessive parental care has made the child dependent, so the child will not do anything, what they lack is a kind of exercise, as long as they do what they can do, they will develop independence, the child’s recovery with half the effort, parents do not have to worry about the effect of the child 5, rehabilitation and clinical medicine, respectively: clinical medicine is a passive search for the cause of the disease, to get rid of the lesion In other words, clinical medicine starts from localization and simply formulates treatment plans, such as surgery if surgery is needed and medication if medication is needed, while rehabilitation medicine is active and focuses on restoring function. 6.What is cerebral palsy; whether cerebral palsy is dementia: Cerebral palsy refers to the brain is immature (from the third month of pregnancy to within one month of birth), damaged or injured by various reasons (such as premature birth, difficult birth, hypoxic asphyxia, etc.), which affects the development of brain cells, resulting in central motor disorders and postural abnormalities, and it also combines language, intelligence, behavior and other disorders, it is a complex; cerebral palsy and dementia are two concepts. 80% of children with cerebral palsy are affected by intelligence, but they are not demented, and it is not impossible for them to enter university if they are properly educated. Cerebral palsy is a comprehensive disease. It is not as simple as taking medicine for a cold or other illnesses, but requires comprehensive rehabilitation to be effective. 7.What is functional training: I think so Function means every activity and movement of the child, every movement repeatedly practiced, and they are required to follow normal children, to limit abnormal posture and abnormal force. 8, the principles of functional training: (1) step by step, so that children adapt themselves to a variety of actions (2) a variety of actions to help rather than replace the (3) always let the child with the training does not drug excessive care (4) constantly repeat the practice of each action (5) to avoid the child abnormal force, do not do difficult actions. In addition to the above 5 points parents should also pay attention to but when the child does not cooperate with the training, parents should be patient, tirelessly help the child to do the functional training. 9, functional training matters of attention ① pay attention to the child’s posture, inhibit abnormal force, control abnormal posture. ② Pay attention to the safety of the child during the training, avoid falls, because children with cerebral palsy are timid and have a poor sense of self-protection, when they fall, they land on their heads first, so it is easy to re-injure the child’s head. Over fatigue can easily make the child rebellious, so that the training will not have much effect, so parents must not be too hasty, but step by step, solid foundation will play a multiplier effect. ④ Some children are too spoiled by their parents and cry loudly during training and do not cooperate, parents should not be impatient with such children, first tell the child to slowly adapt to the environment. Then seize the child’s hobby, personality, time will be able to cooperate with the training. Do not do difficult movements during ⑤ training, but practice each movement repeatedly and master it well before proceeding to the next function. There are many reasons for rebound, such as fever, excessive fatigue, indigestion, weather changes and many other reasons. 10. In order for a child with cerebral palsy to recover quickly, the following conditions should be met: (1) Parents should have patience, the child should be attentive (cooperate) and the doctor should be determined, only in this way can rehabilitation be effective. In other words, parents should cooperate closely with the training, not only in the training room, but also back to the ward or home, otherwise the effect will be slow. (2) While training, parents should use language to guide, because children with cerebral palsy have poor information feedback, they must use language to stimulate him to increase the information feedback. A lot of practice proves that the effect of which parents stimulate with language while training is obvious, and the child’s language and intelligence can be improved at the same time. 11, why some children have fast and some slow results: In addition to the different conditions, it depends on whether the parents and the child can cooperate with the training, with good results will be fast, and vice versa, the effect is slow. On the other hand, parents’ perception should be clear: (1) parents are not sure how to train their children (2) training actions are too difficult, parents expect too much progress too fast, parents should realize that a little progress must be satisfied, should promptly encourage the child to continue to work hard to achieve more and more progress (3) the condition is too heavy parents fail to implement the rehabilitation plan to affect the progress of rehabilitation (4) parents should have meticulous observation, the child has Parents should praise and encourage their children to continue training in time for small progress in order to improve the child’s confidence and hope for positive progress to achieve the ultimate rehabilitation. Often, some children show small progress parents do not observe, always think it is not effective, adjust the training program, so the effect is even slower.
