Typology of low back pain

Low back pain is divided into the following four types in TCM typology: Type 1, cold-damp low back pain. Type 2, damp-heat low back pain. Type 3, blood stasis low back pain. Type 4: Liver and kidney deficiency type of low back pain. In terms of clinical manifestations, if the patient has soreness, pain and fear of cold in the lower back, it is cold-damp low back pain. If the patient has back pain and localized heat, it is damp-heat back pain. If the patient has pain in the lumbar region, like needles and knives, especially at night, and the pain has a fixed location and is immovable, and there is a history of trauma before the pain, such as sprain and contusion, etc., then it belongs to stasis of blood lumbago. If the patient has pain in the lumbar region, is sore and weak, is relatively old, pounds, pats or beats with his hands when he is in pain, and the pain is relieved after keeping warm and aggravated after exertion, then it belongs to lumbago caused by deficiency of liver and kidney.
