If a patient has a blepharocyst in the eye, the exact healing time depends on the patient’s condition. Some patients with a blepharocyst may take 2 weeks or more to heal with conservative hot compresses. However, in some patients with a blepharocyst, surgical removal of the cyst may take a week to completely heal. The lid gland cyst is a common eye disease in ophthalmology clinics. It is also called chalazion and is an idiopathic chronic nonsuppurative inflammation of the lid gland. In general, if a patient has a lid gland cyst in the eye, a localized hot compress can be applied 3-4 times a day for about 10 minutes each time. Small blepharospasm cysts can be absorbed and recede on their own with local heat, but this time is variable, generally at least two weeks or longer. In the case of large lid cysts, local heat application is generally not sufficient to absorb the cyst on its own and surgery is required to remove it. After surgery, the patient’s eyes will return to normal on the second day, and it may take up to one week to return to normal.
