Prevention of hypertension is only a personal issue, whether to treat it or not is based on feelings alone, right?

Is prevention and control of hypertension just a personal problem? It is well known that the occurrence of hypertension is related to an individual’s lifestyle. However, an individual’s lifestyle is strongly influenced by his or her family and surroundings. Even if a person with hypertension wants to change his or her lifestyle, it can be difficult if the family and community do not support it. If the food you buy is high in sodium, salt restriction becomes an empty word; without good sports facilities and exercise environment around the house, increasing physical activity will be compromised. Therefore, it is important to consider this issue when choosing housing. In the prevention and treatment of hypertension, the role of family members should not be underestimated. Family members know best the habits, psychological conditions and needs of hypertensive patients. Therefore, family members should actively learn about the prevention and treatment of hypertension, so that every member of the family can participate in lifestyle interventions and build a healthy living environment, starting at home, which will not only help to control and prevent blood pressure in hypertensive patients, but also promote the health of others. How to really love your family members with hypertension is to live a healthy life together with them. Is it really right to estimate the level of blood pressure based on the symptoms? A large number of people believe that high blood pressure does not need to be treated as long as there are no uncomfortable symptoms. The level of blood pressure does not necessarily correlate with the severity of symptoms. Most people with hypertension have no symptoms (called asymptomatic hypertension), and some have significantly elevated blood pressure, but because they have had the disease for a long time, they have adapted to the high blood pressure level and still do not feel any discomfort until they have a brain hemorrhage. Hypertension is measured by blood pressure, not felt or estimated, and the absence of discomfort does not mean that blood pressure is not high. Patients with hypertension should have their blood pressure measured regularly, such as at least once a week. You should not “follow your feelings” to estimate blood pressure.
