Dandelion can be used to treat sores, carbuncles and poisons, dribbling and astringent pain in urination, sore throat, and redness of the eyes, etc. Honey has a therapeutic effect on coughs and constipation of intestinal dryness due to deficiency of spleen qi, lungs, or dryness of the lungs. Although there are no exact contraindications to the use of dandelion and honey together, the combination may not always be able to fully realize the above effects. Dandelion has the effects of detoxifying and clearing heat, dispersing knots and eliminating carbuncles (evacuating knots and eliminating carbuncles), and diuretic and diaphoretic (improving the problem of dribbling in urine and the problem of small and incomplete urination). Clinically, it can be used to treat diseases such as carbuncles and furuncles (a kind of skin disease, referring to furuncles of severe degree), intestinal carbuncles (carbuncles occurring in the intestinal organs, manifested by fever, pain in the right abdomen, and palpable lumps) and so on; Dandelion can also clear heat and dampness (removing heat and dampness from the body), providing relief for dribbling and astringent pain in the urine in the case of dampness-heat underflow (where dampness and heat invade the intestines, bladder, pubic area, lower limbs, etc.); and it can detoxify toxins and clear away heat, treating red, swollen, and painful eyes after an exuberant liver fire, as well as sore throats in the case of heat-poison congestion. Too much dandelion is prone to diarrhea, and the adverse effects and contraindications are not yet clear. Honey can tonify the spleen, moisten dryness and relieve pain. It is helpful for poor appetite and gastric pain (pain in the area of the stomach near the heart) in spleen qi deficiency; it can also moisten the lungs, and is useful for coughing with little phlegm in lung deficiency; and it has the effect of relieving constipation in intestinal dryness. People with phlegm-dampness obstruction and diarrhea should use it with caution, and the adverse effects are not yet clear. There is no definite contraindication to the use of dandelion and honey together, but the combination may not be able to fully realize the above effects, and it is recommended that they be used together under the guidance of a doctor.
