What’s that little white grain on your eye?

A small white grain on the eye may be caused by a fatty grain, a lid gland cyst, or blepharitis.

1. Small white grains appearing on the skin surface of the eyelids may be fat grains. It can be caused by endocrine disorders, eating greasy food for a long time, using poor quality cosmetics, etc., and appears as a manifestation of small white grains around the eyes.

2. The appearance of small white grains on the edge of the eyelid may be due to the blockage of the outlet of the blepharoplasty gland, which leads to the retention of glandular secretions in the eyelid, causing blepharoplasty cysts, which may appear as painless round lumps under the skin of the eyelid.

3. Blepharitis is an acute suppurative inflammation caused by bacterial infection, which is mainly manifested as localized redness, swelling, heat and pain of the skin of the eyelid, and may appear as hard nodules with localized pressure and pain.

It is recommended that patients go to the hospital for examination in time to clarify the specific cause and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
