How to read mycoplasma pneumoniae report card

Mycoplasma pneumoniae report card is to see whether the laboratory test is positive or negative for antibodies against Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Mycoplasma pneumoniae antibodies are divided into 2 types, namely IgM and IgG. IgM positive proves the recent existence of infection; IgG positive indicates that there has been infection and the presence of antibodies, and it is recommended to observe the symptoms regularly. In case of recurrent bronchial inflammation, it is recommended to pay attention to strengthening the body in general. If the IgM positivity is very high, it indicates the presence of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection, which should be treated with anti-inflammatory drugs, preferably macrolide antibiotics.
