A male, 64 years old, from Qingdao, Shandong Province. Initial diagnosis: 2013-7-25, 5 months after liver cancer surgery, abdominal distension and weakness for half a month. The patient complained that he went to a hospital for abdominal distension and epigastric discomfort, and was diagnosed with left hepatic occupancy by CT. One week later, the wound was opened and recovered after the second stage of suturing. No other treatment was performed. On 2013-7-17, he was examined by CT and MRI of the original surgery hospital again. The report showed that after resection of the left lobe of the liver, there were multiple round-like low-density foci in the right lobe of the liver, metastasis was considered, cirrhosis, splenomegaly and varices in the lower esophagus. He came to our hospital for treatment because he thought there was no good way to treat him. He is now in general condition, sleeping normally, and his bowel movements are well regulated. The patient has always been anxious in nature. He had a history of hepatitis B, cirrhosis of the liver, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma for more than 10 years. Physical examination: clear and cooperative, light and dark tongue with tooth marks on the side, thin yellow slightly greasy moss, light purple veins under the tongue; thin pulse. The diagnosis is recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma. Also use arsenious acid injection, 10mg/day for 14 days with 2 weeks rest. Second consultation: 2013-8-20, the patient complained that after taking the medicine for 1 week, his diet, sleep, fatigue and abdominal distension improved significantly, and his stool was one line a day, slightly diluted and not diarrhea. The rest had no obvious changes. The original formula was instructed to remove ginger, add 15 grams of jiao hawthorn, 15 grams of turtle nails and 15 grams of sand. Arsenious acid injection was used again for 2 weeks. Third consultation: 2013-9-26 The patient complained that his condition continued to improve and his mental status improved significantly. However, the mouth is slightly dry and the stool is slightly dry. Check: tongue is reddish with less coating and less moistening. He was advised to continue the original prescription with 15 grams of chasteberry, 15 grams of dry lotus grass and 15 grams of almond. Arsenious acid for 2 weeks. Fourth consultation: 2013-10-19 The above symptoms basically disappeared, but the patient had an asthma attack, cough with white and slightly sticky sputum and dry skin, which was considered to be a side effect of arsenious acid. Fifth consultation: 2014-1-8 The patient complained of no significant discomfort and rechecked the enhanced CT: no occupying lesions were seen in the liver. Subsequently, he was reviewed and treated several times, and no recurrence was seen on comprehensive review in mid-November 2014, and he felt no significant discomfort.
