Can high blood pressure return to normal in young people

Hypertension in young people is likely to return to normal if it is secondary; if it is primary, it is difficult to return to normal. If a clear cause of the elevated blood pressure can be detected, it is secondary hypertension; if the cause of the hypertension is not clearly identified after clinical examination, it is primary hypertension. For secondary hypertension, the common causes include hyperthyroidism, nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and excessive obesity, etc. When the causative factors are treated and corrected, the elevated blood pressure can basically return to normal levels. In contrast, primary hypertension is mostly caused by genetic and environmental factors, and it is difficult to treat the cause. It is necessary to monitor blood pressure regularly and take long-term antihypertensive drugs, such as nifedipine controlled-release tablets and irbesartan, under the guidance of a doctor to maintain blood pressure in a normal state. Usually, we should eat a light diet, strictly control the intake of sodium, quit smoking and alcohol, strengthen physical exercise, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, and avoid long-term high mental tension.
