The chance of getting liver cancer from hypoechoic liver, is not very high. If there is malignant tumor in liver, it usually shows mixed echoes and hypoechoic in ultrasound, but hypoechoic liver doesn’t mean that the patient has liver cancer, and hypoechoic liver may also be caused by benign liver diseases. Judgment of liver cancer should not only combine with hypoechoic trait, but also according to the patient’s clinical symptoms, enhanced CT, MRI, AFP and other auxiliary examinations, etc. Hypoechoicity in the liver may also be caused by liver hemangioma, liver cysts and other diseases. To judge the nodules, an experienced doctor needs to make a comprehensive judgment based on a number of tests. Ultrasound can be used as a basis for preliminary diagnosis, but it cannot confirm the diagnosis of the disease.
