Can high astigmatism be corrected?

High astigmatism can usually be corrected by wearing eyeglasses and surgical treatment. 1. Wearing glasses: It mainly includes wearing frame glasses and corneal contact lenses. The correction of astigmatism by high oxygen permeable rigid corneal contact lenses is the better non-surgical method at present, and patients need to undergo an accurate optometry in the hospital and wear glasses according to the results of the optometry. 2. Surgical treatment: including corneal laser surgery and IOL implantation. Corneal laser surgery has higher requirements on corneal curvature and corneal thickness, and is generally preferred for astigmatism below 600 degrees; IOL implantation is usually more effective in correcting high astigmatism, but is relatively expensive. If a high degree of astigmatism is detected, the patient should consult an ophthalmologist in time and choose an appropriate correction plan under the doctor’s guidance.
