Oral disease is a common disease affecting the health of urban and rural residents in China, and is a multi-morbidity. Oral health is an important part of public health work and healthy life, and is a symbol of social civilization. With the continuous development of the economy, the lifestyle and eating habits of our residents are gradually improving, and the oral health hygiene knowledge, which was previously unappreciated, is gradually being understood and accepted by the general public. In order to promote the development of oral health, nine ministries and commissions, including the Ministry of Health, the National Love Committee and the National Education Commission, signed a document in 1989 to determine September 20 every year as the national “Love Teeth Day”. The purpose is to mobilize the power of the society to educate the public about dental disease prevention and treatment, enhance the concept of oral health and the awareness of self oral health care, and establish oral health care behavior, so as to improve the oral health level of the whole nation through the activities of the Day. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Health, China has completed three nationwide oral health epidemiological surveys, and the third national oral health epidemiological survey in 2005 showed that the prevalence of caries and periodontal disease among Chinese residents is still serious, and although the level of caries among children has decreased, the level of caries among middle-aged and elderly people has shown an increasing trend. The problem that deserves attention is that only a small part of the caries cases found in the survey subjects have been treated timely and effectively. Therefore, the cause of oral health has a long way to go. As early as 1981, the oral health standard set by the World Health Organization was: clean teeth, no cavities, no pain, normal gum color and no bleeding. Subsequently, oral health was listed as one of the ten standards of human health. In 2001, the “8020 plan” was officially proposed: people are expected to take good care of their teeth and have 20 functional teeth by the age of 80. Now most of the world’s health departments have responded to the “8020” slogan and launched a universal dental care campaign. This concept is gradually being accepted by the elderly in China. The modern concept of oral health is not only limited to the integrity of teeth, but also the health of periodontal, normal bite relationship, the integrity of oral mucosa, normal TMJ movement, fresh oral odor and so on. Because the human body is an organic whole, certain oral diseases can often be secondary to or affect other systemic diseases if they are not treated timely or properly. Of course, there are times when oral diseases are a manifestation of systemic diseases. Because patients and healthcare professionals can directly observe the entire oral cavity with the naked eye, this is more conducive to early diagnosis of diseases, such as dry syndrome, aspergillosis, lupus erythematosus, and other autoimmune diseases. Oral diseases can also affect and aggravate many of the following systemic diseases, such as: coronary heart disease, pneumonia, diabetes, peptic ulcers, premature babies, and facial developmental malformations. With the development of medical research methods and approaches, the understanding of these correlations will become more extensive and deeper. In modern society, people are used to brush their teeth every morning and evening, rinse their mouths after meals, and even brush their teeth immediately after eating; they know how to floss properly to clean the food residue between their teeth; they understand the reason of using fluoride toothpaste to brush their teeth; the relevant health departments and schools will regularly do “guttering” on the permanent teeth of children of school age; once a year, they regularly Oral health checkup, periodontal cleaning regularly to keep away from dental caries and periodontitis; teeth need to be inserted after missing; if oral ulcers do not heal for a long time, they must go to the hospital in time; “scaling”, “porcelain crown”, “orthodontic”, “orthodontic”, “orthodontic”, “orthodontic”, “orthodontic”, “orthodontic”, “orthodontic” and “orthodontic”. orthodontics”, “dental implants” and other professional terms are also deeply rooted in people’s hearts. These welcome changes in understanding are the products of social development and progress of the times, and are the fruits of the labor of our health department and the majority of oral health care workers. Therefore, the fundamental way to solve the problem of dental disease lies in prevention: adults should have their teeth examined once a year; children in the active period of caries occurrence and development should have their teeth examined once every six months; women of childbearing age should have oral treatment before pregnancy; elderly people should have their teeth restored in time after they are missing. At the same time, oral treatment has the special characteristics of long treatment time and many visits, so it cannot achieve the satisfactory effect immediately, which requires the patient to insist on faith and complete the whole treatment process. When the patient visits many times, the oral health condition is fully restored, the doctor and patient have won a battle. In recent years, with the continuous propaganda of the health department, the serious prevention and treatment of dental professionals, and the gradual improvement and deepening of the national cognitive level, the characteristics of oral diseases can be prevented and treated are gradually rooted in the concept of the majority of the nation, and the formation of common sense to pass on. Both doctors and patients will continue to work hard to create painless dental treatment, maintain healthy oral hygiene and improve the quality of their lives.
