Symptoms of rectal cancer mainly include rectal irritation, cancer rupture and bleeding, narrowing of intestinal lumen, cancer invasion of surrounding tissues or metastasis to distant organs.
1. Rectal irritation symptoms: mainly manifested as frequent bowel movement, increased frequency of defecation, change of defecation habit; anal discomfort, acute and severe pain, and lower abdominal pain in advanced stage of rectal cancer.
2. Symptoms of cancer rupture and bleeding: mucus, pus and blood appear on the surface of stool, accompanied by special odor.
3. Symptoms of narrowing of intestinal lumen: stools become thin and flat, and when partial obstruction of intestinal tube is caused, there are manifestations of incomplete intestinal obstruction such as abdominal pain, abdominal distension and hyperactive bowel sounds.
4. Cancer invades surrounding tissues or metastasizes to distant organs and causes corresponding symptoms: if it invades prostate gland and bladder, symptoms such as dysuria may appear. If it invades vagina, abnormal secretion can be seen in vagina. Invasion of presacral nerve may cause severe persistent pain in the sacrococcygeal area, radiating to the lower limbs and other parts.
