Symptoms of late diabetes can include vasculopathy, neurologic complications and many other chronic complications. 1. Microangiopathy: commonly diabetic nephropathy and diabetic retinopathy. (1) Diabetic nephropathy: a common type of chronic kidney disease. Clinical manifestations are proteinuria, hematuria, which may be accompanied by edema and hypertension. After the development of the disease, uremia can occur in the late stage. (2) Diabetic retinopathy: It is one of the main causes of blindness in diabetic patients. Proliferative retinopathy can occur in the late stage, manifested as neovascularization, vitreous mechanization, blindness, etc. 2. Macrovascular lesions: the prevalence of atherosclerosis in diabetic patients is higher, the onset is earlier, and the condition progresses faster. Atherosclerosis mainly infringes on the aorta, coronary artery, cerebral artery, renal artery and limb arteries, etc., which causes coronary heart disease, ischemic or hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease, renal arteriosclerosis, limb arteriosclerosis and so on. 3. Neurological complications: the involvement of the central nervous system can appear mental changes, some patients appear senile dementia. Involvement of the peripheral nervous system can be manifested as abnormal sensation of the extremities, which can be accompanied by motor nerve involvement.
