Difference between Cistanchis and Cistanchis



Cistanchis and Cistanchis have different medicinal parts, efficacy and effects.

1. Medicinal parts: Cistanchiak is the whole herb of Cistanchiak plant. Cistanchis is the dried fleshy stem part with scaly leaves of Cistanchis plant.

2. Effects: Cistanchis is used to tonify the kidney and strengthen yang, moisten the bowels and stop bleeding. The effects of Cistanchis are: tonifying the kidney yang, benefiting the essence and blood, moistening the bowels and relaxing the bowels.

3. Effects: Cistanchiakia treats impotence due to kidney deficiency, spermatorrhea, cold pain in the waist and knees, blood in urine, infertility due to uterine coldness, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, constipation due to dryness of intestines and bowels. Cistanchiakia treats deficiency of kidney yang (lack of yang energy in the kidneys) resulting in deficiency of essence and blood, impotence and infertility, lumbar and knee soreness, weakness of muscles and bones, and constipation due to dryness of intestines and bowels.

Cistanchis is not recommended for those who are suffering from yin deficiency and fire (deficiency of yin and essence in the body, resulting in hyperactive fire), strong yang (the penis does not become soft for a long time after erection, and semen overflows by itself), easy to lift and those who suffer from diarrhea due to deficiency of spleen (diarrhea caused by weak spleen function). Cistanche Yin deficiency and fire and loose stool (feces thin and not shaped) diarrhea should not be served, hot knot constipation should not be served.
