Coughing and sore throat, cold and sweating may be caused by wind-cold attacking the lungs and lung qi deficiency. Wind-cold attacking the lungs should be treated by dispersing wind and cold, promoting the lungs to stop coughing, using San’ao Tang; lung qi deficiency should be treated by tonifying qi and warming the lungs, stopping coughing and resolving phlegm, using Wen Lung Tang. 1. Wind-cold attacks the lungs, causing dysfunction of lung-qi propagation and circulation, and leading to symptoms such as coldness (fear of cold), cough and sore throat, usually accompanied by nasal congestion, runny nose, fever, etc. The treatment is San’ao Tang. San’ao Tang is used for treatment. It is not suitable for those with wind-heat episodes or deficiency of qi and yin. 2. Cold deficiency of lung qi makes the skin and muscles loose and dense, the ability to defend the body decreases, and the lung qi cannot vaporize the water so that phlegm (a pathological product formed by impaired metabolism of water) gathers, and there will be a fear of cold, coughing in a low voice, easy to sweat, easy to catch a cold, and at the same time, there are also symptoms of thin and white sputum, shortness of breath and weakness, and so on. Treatment is with Warm Lung Tang. If symptoms such as cough and sore throat, coldness and sweating occur, please consult a medical professional for treatment.
