There are numerous methods of physical therapy, including: massage and tui-na, traction, three-dimensional traction, infrared irradiation, acupuncture, fire cupping, electroacupuncture, intermediate frequency electrotherapy, magnetic therapy, and so on. We recommend using several physical therapy methods together for better results. Massage and tui-na (also called manual repositioning) can help to relieve the tension of low back muscles and small joint repositioning, but also has the possibility of aggravating small joint injury. Traction and 3D traction are the most commonly used non-surgical treatments. Traction is recommended for patients with bulging discs and mild herniations, but traction is not recommended for patients with huge herniations or prolapsed discs. There are no contraindications to other physical therapy methods, and they can be chosen at will.
