What to do about skin hemangiomas in the elderly

Elderly skin hemangiomas generally do not need special treatment, when complications such as bleeding occur, general treatment or surgical treatment can be considered for treatment.

1. General treatment: hemangioma with superficial location is easy to break and bleed by repeated friction. When hemangioma breaks and bleeds, it needs effective bandage to stop bleeding.

2. Surgical treatment: if the hemangioma located in the exposed area affects the aesthetics, or if the patient has the need to remove the lesion, surgical treatment can be considered. Currently, there are traditional excision surgery, sclerotherapy, cryotherapy, electrocoagulation therapy and laser therapy.

Elderly patients with cutaneous hemangiomas are advised to go to the hospital and choose the appropriate method of treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
