Can Ornidazole be used to treat toothache?

Ornidazole can be used to treat toothache in most cases. However, patients are first advised to visit a dental professional to check the cause of the toothache. The most common clinical cause of toothache is indeed of infectious origin. Whether it is pulpitis and periapical infection caused by bacteria infecting the tooth or pericoronitis caused by bacteria infecting the periodontal tissues of the wisdom tooth. These more common clinical toothaches are all related to bacterial infections. For the oral cavity, many bacterial infections are anaerobic infections, and Ornidazole itself, as a class of nitroimidazole drugs with relatively good effects and fewer side effects, is completely symptomatic for bacterial infections in the oral cavity. However, it should be noted that the best way to treat toothache is to target the cause of the disease. In other words, if it is pulpitis and periapical inflammation, the best treatment is to open the pulp and drainage and root canal treatment, while for wisdom tooth periapical inflammation, except for the acute stage can use drugs to control the pain, the root solution is to remove the wisdom tooth. The method of taking medication is to treat the symptoms but not the root cause.
