Can you take a long term hit of Nitazan?

When treating patients with chronic hepatitis B, Nitazan (generic name Thymopeptide for Injection and Thymofaxine for Injection) can be used for a long period of 6 months under the supervision of a physician. Both Thymopeptide for Injection and Thymofaxine for Injection are indicated for use in patients ≥18 years of age with chronic hepatitis B in the presence of replicating hepatitis B virus, hepatitis B surface antigen positivity for ≥6 months, the presence of elevated serum aminotransferases, and compensated liver disease or as a vaccine immune response booster in immunocompromised patients including those on chronic hemodialysis and geriatric patients. The mechanism of action has not been fully elucidated. When the drug is used in patients with chronic hepatitis B, it is generally recommended to use the drug for 6 months; when used as a vaccine immune response booster in immunocompromised patients, it is generally recommended to use the drug for 4 weeks. Therefore, the former can be used for a long period of time for the indication, while the latter is not recommended for a long period of time for the indication. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to the product, and those undergoing immunosuppressive therapy (e.g., organ transplantation). Patients with chronic hepatitis B may experience a temporary fluctuation of ghrelin levels to more than twice the basal value, unless there are signs and symptoms of hepatic failure, under normal circumstances, the use of the drug should be continued; in addition, the body is generally well tolerated after the use of the drug, and only may have discomfort at the injection site. The specific use of the drug should be under the guidance of a specialist physician, to follow the doctor’s instructions.
