Coughing a dozen times a day is not normal. Coughing is a process for people to help get the dirty stuff out of their airways and lungs, and normal people should not cough without any irritation, or without being sick. Except in special cases, such as choking on water, choking on rice or feeling something backing up behind the nose, and when you may have eaten something spicy, you can occasionally cough twice, which are clearly known causes, and this cough is not counted. However, if you have a cough for an unexplained reason, and you keep coughing all day long, there is something wrong with it, and the cause may not be found once, but it cannot be found more than three times.
