Causes and dangers of nasal cysts

Nasal cysts are commonly known as nasal vestibular cysts, the etiology of which includes congenital and acquired factors, and the main hazards include pain in and around the affected area and ipsilateral nasal congestion.
1.Etiology:
(1) Congenital factors: residual or vagal epithelial tissue develops into cysts at the connection of facial maxillary process, bulbar process and lateral nasal process during embryonic development, also known as bulbar maxillary cyst.
(2) Acquired factors: due to various reasons, the mucous gland ducts of the mucous membrane at the bottom of the nasal vestibule are blocked, and the secretions of the glands are retained and gradually increase to form cysts, so they are also called retention cysts.
2.Harm:
After the cyst grows up, one side of the nasal vestibule and the attachment of the nose bulges, accompanied by nasal vestibule and upper lip swelling and pain, obvious when chewing. When the cyst is large and obstructs the nasal vestibule, there may be nasal congestion on the same side.
Some patients may have reflex pain in the maxillary or frontal region. If the cyst becomes infected, it may rapidly increase in size and localized pain may worsen.
