Dressing for Stroke Patients

  Stroke patients are best to sleep on beds with guardrails, which can prevent falls and also facilitate future rehabilitation exercises. A thick soft mattress can be laid on a wooden bed, and an air mattress can be used if available. When incontinent, you can put a rubber pad under the sheet and a diaper on the sheet to change it in time and keep it dry.  The clothes worn by stroke patients should be fat and soft, easy to put on and take off, preferably with zippers or Velcro for easy replacement. When replacing clothes, the healthy side of the upper limb first, one side off and immediately put on replacement clothes to avoid getting cold; when replacing the affected side, protect the shoulder joint to prevent dislocation; when the temperature is low to raise the room temperature, cover light and warm quilt, do not place hot water bags, so as not to burn the patient due to sensory impairment; when the temperature is high in summer, the upper body without pajamas is more convenient, cover with a thick towel quilt can be, but pay attention to the shoulder to get cold.
