Epidemiologic evidence and clinical data at the current stage do not find that novel coronaviruses can cause leukemia. Neocoronavirus, also called novel coronavirus, is a completely new virus. It is more contagious than the influenza virus and is therefore highly susceptible to outbreaks and epidemics in immunocompromised populations, especially in crowded places. After infection with novel coronavirus, fever, dry cough and malaise are the main manifestations. Severe patients usually develop respiratory distress or hypoxemia one week after the onset of the disease, and in severe cases, the disease may rapidly progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, uncorrectable metabolic acidosis, and multiorgan failure, etc. No data have been found to indicate that the virus is infectious. As far as the current data are concerned, no evidence has been found that the new coronavirus may cause leukemia. The general population should pay attention to personal precautions, wear masks when going out, wash hands frequently, and avoid going to crowded places with poor air circulation.
