Heart failure, short for heart failure, is a condition in which the arterial system is underperfused due to a failure of the heart’s systolic and/or diastolic function to adequately drain venous return blood out of the heart, resulting in a large amount of blood pooling in the venous system. There are many causes of heart failure, including almost all cardiovascular diseases. Common causes include myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy, hemodynamic overload, inflammation, and other causes of myocardial injury, all of which can result in changes in myocardial structure and function, and ultimately lead to low ventricular pumping and/or filling function. When patients develop heart failure, they should go to regular hospitals for treatment in time to avoid delays.
