What’s wrong with a cold and moist scrotum?

Scrotal dampness and coldness is a common clinical symptom. There are many causes of scrotal dampness in patients, which can be broadly divided into physiological and pathological scrotal dampness. Physiological scrotal dampness and coldness is due to sedentary or high ambient temperature and tight underwear, resulting in more sweating in the scrotal area, the main component of sweat is water, which has a large specific heat capacity and absorbs heat, making the scrotal area cooler to the touch. The pathological scrotal dampness and coldness is mostly caused by varicocele, chronic prostatitis, scrotal eczema, and vesiculitis. Generally, patients may have other uncomfortable symptoms in addition to scrotal dampness and coldness.
