Spasmodic pain in the patient’s stomach is most often caused by getting cold and eating irritating food. When this happens, the first thing to do is to avoid the irritant from persisting, keep the abdomen warm, and refrain from eating spicy, fried, and other irritating foods. If there is no relief after controlling these behaviors, consider applying a moist hot towel to the belly button. If there is still no relief, you can consider using antispasmodic medication, commonly used in the clinic are 654-2 or Desutude. If accompanied by acid reflux and more farting, consider adding medications such as omeprazole or osteopathic medicine.
