What is the pain over the right side of the chest?

The right upper chest is composed of the right chest wall, pleura, and lung, so the pain above the right chest may be caused by rib, pleural, and lung diseases. 1, lung and pleural diseases: more common lung infections, spontaneous pneumothorax, pleurisy, lung cancer, etc. Spontaneous pneumothorax often has tearing-like pain when it first occurs. When inflammation invades the pleura, it shows as pinprick-like pain. Lung cancer is persistent and severe pain. Pain due to lung causes is mostly aggravated by breathing or coughing. 2.Disease of the chest wall itself: costochondritis, rib fracture, soft tissue injury in the chest, intercostal neuralgia can all lead to pain over the right side of the chest. Costochondritis, rib fracture, and soft tissue injury of the chest have localized pressure pain. 3. Herpes zoster: pain is distributed along one side of the intercostal nerve with paroxysmal burning or stabbing pain, and the pain does not exceed the midline of the body surface. Pain in the right side of the chest can occur before the appearance of skin symptoms. 4, cardiac neurosis: if the organic lesion is still not found after functional examination, then cardiac neurosis needs to be considered. Pain over the right side of the chest can only be diagnosed specifically based on the nature of pain, accompanying symptoms and auxiliary examinations, and attention needs to be paid to timely medical consultation to exclude the possibility of fatal diseases.
