Pathological diagnostic report of hepatocellular carcinoma needs to pay attention to the gross morphology of the tumor, cellular histological morphology, and invasion of peripheral vascular system. 1. Gross morphology: the gross morphology of the tumor includes the length and width of the tumor, the number of foci, the status of tumor envelope, the damage of the tissues around the foci, the accompanying cirrhosis, and the incision margin of the tumor. 2. Cellular histology: tumor cell type (hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocellular carcinoma, mixed carcinoma, metastatic carcinoma, etc.), degree of differentiation of the tumor (low, medium or high differentiation), degree of tissue fibers, and degree of invasion of hepatocellular carcinoma growth. 3. Invasion of peripheral vascular system: the main concern is the invasion of peripheral vascular system such as portal vein and its branches, peripheral lymphatic vessels and so on. Specific pathological diagnosis results need to be comprehensively judged by professional clinicians.
