Astragalus can be combined with different medicines according to the purpose to achieve better results, such as the treatment of spleen qi deficiency, can be combined with ginseng and other medicines. There is no such thing as “best”.
Astragalus is a traditional Chinese medicine, the dried root of Astragalus membranaceus or Astragalus membranaceus, a leguminous plant, sweet in taste, slightly warm in nature, belonging to the spleen, lung meridian, can replenish qi and raise yang (replenish qi so that yang qi can be raised), solidify the surface to stop sweating (stopping sweating by consolidating the surface of the body), diuretic to reduce edema (to eliminate edema by facilitating the passage of urine and stools), and promote the production of fluids to nourish the blood (to replenish the body’s fluids and blood), and so on.
For treating qi deficiency and edema, it can be combined with Atractylodes macrocephala and Poria; for treating spleen qi deficiency, it can be combined with Atractylodes macrocephala and Ginseng. Note that the efficacy of medicines in water is limited and cannot replace medicines in treating diseases.
Astragalus should be taken with caution in cases of superficial solidity, stagnation of qi and dampness, food stagnation, solid evidence, and yin deficiency with hyperactivity of yang. If there are related symptoms, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and use the medicine under the doctor’s guidance.
