There are no studies showing that there is a wonder point for treating premature ejaculation. However, premature ejaculation can be treated by acupuncture at Guanyuan, Qihai, Jiyao, Ren Yu and Sanyinjiao.
Chinese medicine believes that premature ejaculation is mostly caused by dampness-heat invasion, internal injuries of emotions, chronic illness, and overindulgence in sexual intercourse. The basic mechanism of the disease is the failure of the Jing Guan Feng Zang (the essence of the body’s reproduction is lost in the Feng Zang, and easy to leak out), and is related to the heart, liver and kidney organs.
San Yin Jiao can regulate the three organs of the liver, kidney and spleen, which can help alleviate the symptoms of premature ejaculation by dredging up the liver, benefiting the kidneys, and strengthening the spleen; Guan Yuan and Qi Hai belong to the Ren meridian, which is attached to the jing (the place where the sperm of male reproduction is generated and stored) and the cystic uterus (the uterus); and Jisiao and Kidney Yu belong to the foot-sun bladder meridian, which works in the lumbosacral region and helps improve the reproductive functions of both men and women.
The effectiveness of acupuncture in treating premature ejaculation varies from person to person. If the patient’s premature ejaculation is severe, he or she needs to be treated under the guidance of a professional doctor to identify the evidence and, if necessary, with medication in order to enhance the efficacy of the treatment.
