How long can you live with ascites in stomach cancer?

Gastric cancer is a common malignant gastrointestinal tumor in clinical practice. If ascites appears in gastric cancer, it proves that the stage of gastric cancer has reached advanced stage. Generally, if ascites appears in gastric cancer, multiple organ failure or even coma and death may occur in 3-6 months. However, if ascites discharge or intraperitoneal infusion chemotherapy is actively taken, it may reduce ascites as well as kill some of the metastatic cells of gastric cancer, which may improve the survival period of 1-2 years. Especially, with the production and application of targeted technology and drugs, it can be a good adjuvant treatment for ascites in advanced stage of gastric cancer. Therefore, active treatment measures for ascites in gastric cancer may improve the survival and cure rate of gastric cancer patients.
