Sternal pain on pressure may be caused by chest trauma, pleurisy, myocardial infarction and other factors. 1. Chest trauma: if the chest suffers from violent impact injury, it may lead to soft tissue contusion of the chest wall or fracture of the sternum, which may lead to the symptom of pain in the sternum when pressed. 2. Pleurisy: if there is inflammation in the pleural cavity, it may produce chest pain, cough, sputum and other symptoms, chest pain will usually worsen when breathing, coughing, and some patients will have pressure pain in the corresponding position. 3. Myocardial infarction: If the main blood vessel supplying blood flow to the heart is occluded, it may lead to ischemic necrosis of the heart muscle, which may cause pressure pain in the left side of the chest, the lower part of the raphe, and the back of the sternum. If the sternal pressure pain is obvious and persists unrelieved, or occurs frequently, you should consult a doctor promptly to avoid delaying your condition.
