The removal of tongue leukoplakia does not mean that it is fine, and regular follow-up is still needed. Tongue leukoplakia belongs to pre-cancerous lesions, which are mostly considered to be caused by local stimulation and mental factors, and need to be removed by surgery in time. Most of the patients are still able to recover after surgery, but it does not mean that they can recover completely without recurrence, which still needs to depend on the scope of the lesion and the situation of surgical resection to be determined. Generally speaking, if the disease is relatively mild, after the lesion is completely removed by surgery, it is not a big problem to maintain good living and dietary habits, and refrain from smoking and drinking; however, if the disease is more serious or the surgery is not cleanly removed, and if the patient does not take good care of the lesion after the surgery, it is still possible that the lesion may recur and become cancerous, and the patient must follow the doctor’s instructions to undergo regular rechecks. The prognosis of tongue leukoplakia is still good, but in order to avoid accidents, regular checkups are still needed.
