Number of follicles in polycystic ovary syndrome

The number of follicles on one ovarian section in polycystic ovary syndrome may be 12 or more small follicles of 2-9 mm. Polycystic ovary syndrome can have up to 12 or more follicles of 2-9mm in one or both ovaries in the basal state, and some women can have up to 20 or more follicles of 2-9mm in one ovary. When there are too many small follicles, it is difficult for the ultrasound to count the number of follicles. When women with polycystic ovary syndrome have an ultrasound, some women have exactly 12 or slightly more follicles on one side, and some women can have dozens of follicles. However, the number of follicles does not mean that all ovulations will develop into dominant follicles, and too many follicles do not; it is possible to develop dominant follicles at the same time. Polycystic ovary syndrome patients should also visit the hospital in time and actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment to avoid serious consequences.
