According to the laboratory biosafety level, Ebola virus is a level 4 virus. Laboratory biosafety levels are categorized into 4 levels, from level 1 to level 4, the more hazardous the research object (bacteria, virus, etc.) is, the higher the level of protection. Ebola virus is a high-risk virus, and laboratories are required to meet the level 4 biosafety level for research. Ebola virus causes Ebola virus disease, a hemorrhagic virulent infectious disease infecting humans and primates. Clinically characterized by multiple organ damage, fever, hemorrhage and diarrhea, it is one of the deadliest viral diseases in the history of mankind, with extremely high infectiousness and lethality (50% to 90%). It is classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a level 4 virus and a potential biological warfare agent that poses the greatest danger to all mankind.
