Nearly 20 years ago, at the beginning of my career, my predecessors in the department warned me that there are still many difficulties and issues in the field of burns; for example, scarring, if anyone can really solve the scarring problem, it is very likely to impact the Nobel Prize in medicine. Over the years, based on the work of my predecessors, I have gradually mastered and even become proficient in the treatment of various causes of burns, resuscitation of critically ill burn patients, surgical and non-surgical treatment of skin/soft tissue damage wounds, and even post-burn scarring. In addition, she has been able to provide surgical and non-surgical treatment for the repair of skin/soft tissue defects and even post-burn scar deformities. During this period, I have implemented the classical schemes of scar prevention one by one and have gained many insights; especially certain functional exercise techniques, which are particularly useful for the prevention of post-burn scar deformity and even for functional recovery after surgery; friends who have treated large patients may feel that I attach great importance to the training of preoperative and postoperative functional exercise techniques; finding and mastering the appropriate functional exercise techniques is less painful and more effective. The effect is good and lasting. However, in addition to functional exercise, in addition to the design of the surgical plan and the pursuit of surgical skills, the further prevention and treatment of the scar itself is still troubling for many years, and it is difficult to find the appropriate angle to devote to the treatment or research in this field. Over the years, I have seen and heard of many very in-depth studies, but most of them are still quite far from clinical application. Until recently, perhaps due to the accumulation of clinical experience and many years of thinking, by coincidence, I found some ways to improve the “itchiness” of the scar; so far, some of the patients who have tried it have felt obvious, “At least, I can sleep well at night! “, one patient said – burn plastic surgery-related clinical work and research, really difficult; a small improvement, not yet dare to say how the long-term effect, at least, to my personal burn-related work for many years and bring a glimpse of hope, to the improvement of the quality of life of the relevant patients and friends, perhaps It can bring a ray of hope.
