Chaihu Shu Liver Pill is a proprietary Chinese medicine composed of Poria, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Cardamom, Vinegar Aromatic Parsley, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Platycodon Grandiflorum, Ginger Macrocarpal, Fried Hawthorn, Chaihu, Scutellaria Baicalensis, Peppermint, Mullein, Rhubarb in Liquor, Fried Green Peel, Angelica Sinensis, and Upholsteron. It is a black-brown small honey pill or large honey pill with sweet and bitter flavor.
Chaihu Shu Liver Pill has the efficacy of dispersing liver qi and relieving flatulence and pain, and is mainly used for treating distension and fullness of the chest and ribs caused by the lack of liver qi, food stagnation and vomiting of sour water. Adverse effects and contraindications are not known.
Chai Hu Shuo Liver Essence is a traditional Chinese medicine formula that is a qi regulating agent and can be used as both a powder and a soup. It is composed of vinegar-fried Chenpi, Chaihu, Chuanxiong, Xiangshu, bran-fried Citrus aurantium, Paeonia lactiflora, and roasted licorice.
Chai Hu Shuo Liver Essence has the effect of dispelling liver qi as well as invigorating blood circulation and relieving pain. It is mainly used for treating liver qi stagnation (the lack of smooth flow of liver qi) resulting in fullness and pain in the ribs and epigastrium (abdomen), stuffiness in the chest, sighing, emotional stagnation, irritability, or belching (hiccups).
